Course Description: This is a twelve week course that is offered to seventh/eighth graders which serves as an instructional program that provides individuals the opportunity to explore Family and Consumer Sciences content areas. These areas include: FCCLA, Child Development, Personal Finance and Resource Management, Nutrition and Wellness, Clothing and Textiles, Family Health, and Housing, Home Furnishings and Equipment.
Course Objectives:
1. Students will be able to identify and demonstrate leadership qualities and skills.
2. Students will be able to develop skills for time, energy, and money management.
3. Students will be able to establish knowledge of goal setting and decision-making.
4. Students will be able to demonstrate the basics of sewing.
5. Students will be able to prepare nutritious meals and snacks.
6. Students will be able to explore future careers.
